October Glossybox Review: Dark Romance Edition ♥

Is it just me or has this year shot by? I'm sure I only received my September glossybox a couple days ago! Not going to lie I wasn't as impressed with this months box as I was with the last box, but I guess that's just how these things work. I did enjoy the chocolate though... The thing I love the most about boxes like this is the surprise you get every month when it arrives in the post. By spending the same amount every month, I can try out random products that I would never normally buy if I had to pay full price for a product I've not used before. The total price of the full size items in this box came too £103.45, not bad for only paying a tenner.

I think i'll start with my favourite of the products I recieved which is the Monu Illuminating Primer (even if it does smell a bit like sun cream). Its very thick & creamy for a primer but surprisingly it kept my makeup on all day. This product is said to contain vitamin E and is meant to protect your skin against UV damage which is always a plus. The only down side I found about this product is that it made my skin quite pink when I applied it, & I definately didn't look flawless like the information said. But then everyones skin is different and this may change after a couple of uses.
Full size is 50ml costing £24.95 which you can buy from www.monushop.co.uk

Next up is the MeMeMe Cherub's Blush which is a cheek & lip tint. For lips I think this item is really good. It stays on well even after a drink or food, its a nice colour and it applies easily for quick top ups. However I really don't like these items as blushers as I just cant seem to make them work against my skin. Whenever I put them on its either to thin or I have lines where the product hasn't blended right. This is definitely not a bad item though, I just need to learn how to use it ha.
Full size which is 12ml costs £5.50 which can be brought from www.mememecosmetics.co.uk

Third item for this box is the Katy Perry Killer Queen Fragrance. This perfume smells amazinggggg!! Its quite a strong sweet smell but I love it. Sort of reminds me of some cherry sweets I used to eat when I was younger. Yum.
Full size is 50ml which costs £29.50 which you can buy from most beauty/fragrance stores

Next product is the Premae Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum. I've never actually heard of this item before so is a nice surprise to find its actually lovely to use. Premae are an allergen-free brand which means the products they produce are kind to the skin. I adore this item as its designed for combination skin which is what I have, it helps to reduce redness and makes my face feel soft yet still matte and not shiny which is perfect for me. I will definitely be purchasing the full size bottle of this item yay!
Full size which is 50ml costs £22.50 from www.premaeskincare.com/shop

Lastly is the Gamila Secret Cleansing Bar which again I have never seen before this box. I haven't had time to try this item yet but from what I have read it looks pretty good. The company say this item is 100% natural while being gentle, hydrating and deep cleansing. Definitely looking forward to trying this item out soon!
Full size is £21 which you can buy from www.houseoffraser.co.uk

Oh I almost forgot. I also loved the little bar of dark chocolate they popped in the box. Yum yum yum. :)

If you've used any of these items or received anything different please leave me a comment as I would love to hear your opinions. Look out for my next blog guys. Byeeee.

Lots of love xxxx

  1. I got almost the same products instead of the chocolate bar I got a set of press on nails in French manicure - I would much rather have taken the chocolate bar. I wasn't impressed by this box at all and I really wish they would try to make the quality of the boxes a bit more even. Xx

    1. I completely agree, I've read a few blogs saying how disappointed people are with this box which is sad, because I think the last few have been really good. Oh well I hope the next one makes up for this one being a bit pants :) xxx

    1. I would definitely recommend getting it :) In the last couple of boxes we've had things like eyelash curlers, eyeliners, fake lashes, hair products, juicy couture perfume samples & lots more. Have to let me know what you think if you decide to order one xxx
